Tropical weather forces southeast Texas beach closure
FREEPORT, Texas (KIAH) — A storm system that made landfall in Mexico forced at least one southeast Texas attraction to close on Wednesday. The storm surge from the Gulf of Mexico has Freeport Beach covered in seawater and littered with driftwood and other debris. Freeport city workers even locked the gates leading to that beach and put up signs that read “BEACH CLOSED.”
