Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Review
While I’m surprised the moment has actually arrived, but alas here’s a second run at the second Call of Duty Modern Warfare experience. I should mention that I am covering this a bit after launch, so this will be focused on the campaign and the regular multiplayer only.
Wanted: Dead Review
This is a rather interesting and unique sort of offering. It kind of punches above its weight and while it hits the mark in some areas, in others it’s just bizarre. In the game you take on the role of Hannah Stone, you’re part of a Hong Kong police squad going by Zombie Unit.
High on Life Review
"High on Other Things Too" Head off into the adventure of a life time, or well sort of find your path. Your chosen character is someone having just finished high school without much direction in life. A path is then suddenly chosen as aliens invade Earth since apparently humans are something of a special drug to them. You become a bounty hunter and aim to eliminate these enemies. It’s a fairly straight forward scenario, and a comedy.
The Callisto Protocol Review
"Dead Moon, Lifeless Game" It’s three hundred years in the future, an outbreak has happened and you’re carrying precious cargo. Taking on the role of Jacob Lee (Josh Duhamel) you’re flying this craft when suddenly everything goes horribly wrong and you eventually find yourself in a prison. This place is called Black Iron Prison and it’s basically the worst of locations being found on Jupiter’s moon.
Somerville Review
This is a narrative driven adventure along the lines of say Limbo or Inside. It follows a father that’s trying to find his family while dealing with a War of the Worlds type scenario. The family is just relaxing after a day of doing whatever, and suddenly they’re thrust into the middle of a war scenario. There’s also a dog, it’s sort of just there and periodically is part of the story.
Pentiment Review
Every once and awhile you get to play a game that is both fresh and at the same time delightfully charming. Pentiment is the type of game that you should explore without reading or watching anything about it. It’s an experience best felt fresh without any sort of guidance or handholding.
God of War Ragnarok Review
Following the events of 2018’s God of War we once again jump into the role of Kratos alongside his growing son Atreus. Ragnarok is on the approach and snow has settled across the realm. A similar situation is happening across the other realms as they too are feeling the impact of a changing tide.
A Plague Tale: Requiem Review
This is the second entry within the A Plague Tale series following once again, Amicia who is paired with her younger brother Hugo. The two have been enjoying some calming moments, but with a plague on their heels it’s only a minimal amount of time before the rats appear once more.
Kirby's Dream Buffet Review
It’s time to feast as Kirby and pals come along for one wild eating fest. This is a multiplayer oriented game where players will compete against each other in order to consume the most delicious food. It really does look great, with high levels of detail in the snacks and a certain nice simplicity to it.
NHL 23 Review
After the previous year’s improvements we’re given what’s essentially the most minimal change-up I believe we’ve ever seen within this EA Sports hockey series. I’ve been playing the games for a couple decades now and outside of the awkward late gen same game, different roster scenario I really don’t think we’ve come across such a light set of improvements or adjustments.
Way of the Hunter Review
With a strange focus on ethical hunting you’ll be exploring an open world taking on a variety of challenges and trying to gather the best possible trophies. The game is centrally focused on throwing you into the open world and providing some story based content. The narrative was rather weak with it just being an excuse to take over the old grandfather’s plot of land.
Bright Memory Infinite Review
This is a follow-up to what was a smaller tease a couple years back. With this being Infinite, it’s noted as being the full offering following that initial release. It’s not too much longer, but the overall scope of the experience has certainly grown. That being said, it’s still a very short ride being about an hour and a half long in length to complete.
As Dusk Falls Review
This is a narrative focused interactive story. It’s a bit different from other games as you’re essentially just watching a series and then lightly interacting with it. Think Life is Strange or Telltale Games, then just remove any movement based gameplay. It’s this neat bridge between a literal...
Mario Strikers: Battle League Review
Strikers has returned after quite a period of time, bringing with it the excitement of the pitch once more. If you’re not familiar with this series of the Mario sports franchises it provides a take on soccer/football. In actuality it’s more like futsal where you’re competingin tighter play areas.
