New artisan shop at Cabin John
Dov & Company, the newest addition to Cabin John Village, is a popup shop showcasing the works of local artisans. The store is run by Colombian-born sisters Maria and Sofia Tapias, who create jewelry from recycled silver and other upcycled materials. In addition to their own line, the store features handmade jewelry from other as well as handbags, kitchenware, home decor, stuffed animals, skincare products, clothes and other goods from D.C.-area artisans. There will be weekly craft workshops, and the store has a permanent make-your-own jewelry bar. You’ll find Dov & Company in the middle of the Cabin John shopping center, between Jurisdiction Clothing and Rewild. If all goes well, it will be there at least through the holidays.
Montgomery County Police Seek Public Help in Finding Missing Teen Kay'leigh Rodgers
Silver Spring, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police has issued a public appeal for help in locating a missing teenager. Kay'leigh Rodgers, aged 13, has been reported missing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) of the Montgomery County Department of Police is spearheading the search for the young girl.
Drunken Antics At Solomons Tiki Bar Lands Pair From Virginia Behind Bars: Sheriff
Craig Michael Conway, 53, and Alina Pitts, 30, both of Arlington, got some beer muscles while at the Tiki Bar on Charles Street in Solomons, landing them both behind bars. According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to investigate an active fight in progress at the popular bar, and upon arrival found Conway accosting and approaching on security staff.
McConnellsburg woman charged with driving on 6x+ suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident
26 July 2024- A woman with over half a dozen drivers license suspensions is now facing more charges after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident this month in Mercersburg. Betty A Smith of McConnellsburg has been charged with misdemeanor accidents involving damage as well as citations for driving on a suspended or revoked license for the sixth and subsequent offense, driving without a license, driving with a suspended vehicle registration, and failure to signal. She’s awaiting her next court date scheduled for September 10th.
