Seward Volleyball Opens with Losses in McCook
Seward County Volleyball kicked off their 2024 season on Friday with a road trip to Nebraska to compete in the McCook Invitational where the Lady Saints took on both the host team in McCook as well as Highland in tough back-and-forth contests and despite remaining close through every set on the day, Seward County fell in both contests with a 3-1 loss to McCook and a 3-2 loss to Highland.

Sorghum Producers Elect New Chair
(NAFB) – The National Sorghum Producers Board of Directors elected Amy France of Scott City, Kansas, as chairwoman at the board’s annual August budget and board meeting. France says it’s a true honor to serve as chairwoman of the NSP. “Just as in farming, many fine people have blazed a trail before me so that we can achieve the things we do today,” France says. “I’m grateful for past leadership and their examples and look forward to continuing to carry the torch for sorghum and agriculture in this most important time.” She operates a family farm in the semi-arid western Kansas region and produces grain sorghum, corn, wheat, and black Angus cattle. She and her husband, Clint, are third-generation farmers who work along with their oldest son. France has served on the NSP board of directors since 2018. The 2024-2025 term begins on October 1. Junction City student catches 42-inch catfish
JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) - Junction City student, Grayson Silver, recently caught a 42-inch catfish while fishing with his family at Homer’s Pond in Junction City.
