LI program gets kids & parents ready to start school

For nearly two decades, Long Island Children’s Museum’s "Together to Kindergarten" program has been helping kids and their families prepare to start school. The free, four-week program helps first-generation families who were educated outside the U.S., or where English is a new language, learn skills such as readiness, literacy and more. On Friday, families celebrated their kids graduation, as both the preschoolers and parents received diplomas. Parents say it has made a huge impact on their children and that they have more confidence and increased social skills after taking the program.
