TRUCKEE, Calif. – A proposed industrial development, including a sawmill and wood processing facility, has elicited concern among local residents. Friends of Prosser Truckee, a group of community members, has formed to address the project, which is set to be located approximately 3.5 miles from the northernmost roundabout heading out of town on Highway 89 North. Technically, Klondike Flat Road is beyond the Town of Truckee boundary line and is in unincorporated Nevada County.

FOLSOM, Calif. — Terrifying video is showing what police call an attempted murder on the road. Folsom Police said a driver chased and intentionally rammed his SUV into a motorcyclist at East Bidwell Street and Iron Point Road on Tuesday evening. The 23-year-old driver, Anders Erickson of Folsom, is now facing attempted murder charges.

SACRAMENTO – A longtime Land Park area restaurant that once got national recognition will be saying goodbye at the end of the month. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the owners of Dad's Kitchen announced that their Freeport Boulevard location will be closing for good on Sunday, July 28. "We have so much gratitude for the last 14 amazing years in this location but it is time to close the doors," the restaurant's owners wrote. No specific reason has been given for the restaurant's impending closure.Food Network star Guy Fieri featured Dad's Kitchen in a 2011 segment on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives." It was one of a handful of Sacramento-area restaurants to be featured on the show. Dad's Kitchen says its last two weeks in business will be a celebration of the restaurant. They urge patrons to keep an eye out for a celebration schedule. While the Land Park location will be closing, Dad's Kitchen has another location in Fair Oaks on Sunset Avenue.

Roseville to crack down on illicit massage activity
ROSEVILLE, Calif. — The Roseville City Council voted unanimously Wednesday to approve an ordinance increasing requirements for massage businesses. According to Roseville, the main reason for updating the municipal code is to address challenges with illicit massage business activity. Of the 150 to 200 massage establishments or independent contractors in the city, about 30 are engaged in illicit massage activity, Community Service Officer Erika Broussard said at the meeting.
