Drawing inspiration from a doctoral thesis on infant brain development, Jessica Rolph and Roderick Morris co-founded Boise, Idaho-based Lovevery, which makes children's toys specialized for different childhood developmental phases. The company brought in $226 million in revenue last year, according to documents reviewed by CNBC Make It — powered largely by its popular subscription play kits. The company aims to reach profitability this year, Rolph says.
Coroner IDs Meridian man who died in house fire
The man who died in a house fire last week has been publicly identified. Norman Duncan, 84, was pronounced dead on Saturday morning following a Friday evening house fire on West Vaquero Lane in Meridian, the Ada County Coroner’s Office announced Thursday. The Meridian Fire Department responded to the fire at around 7 p.m. Friday, July 19, and Duncan died at the scene, as previously reported. Twelve units responded to the fire and it took approximately 30 minutes to extinguish. Duncan’s cause and manner of death are pending, the coroner’s office said.
Boise teenager identified as victim of head-on crash
A 17-year-old Boise girl has been identified as the victim of a fatal car crash that occurred last week near Star. Zuleyka Angulo was driving a 2011 Ford Focus that collided head-on with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado on State Highway 44 on Thursday, July 19, at 8:40 p.m. west of Star in Canyon County. The Chevrolet, driven by a 30-year-old Middleton man, was headed westbound and crossed into the oncoming lane to pass a semi-truck when it collided with the Ford. Angulo died at the scene. Her two juvenile passengers were hospitalized, as was the driver of the Chevrolet.

Crews Battling new 1000 Acre Lightning-Caused Wildfire in Nez Perce County
JULIAETTA - Nez Perce County, about 5 miles southwest of Juliaetta, just south of the Latah County line. Incident Overview: Firefighters are battling the Gwen Fire, a new lightning-caused fire that started around 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The blaze, currently burning grass and brush in steep canyon terrain, was estimated to be about 800 acres in size as of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday has now grown to 1000 acres. No containment had been achieved at that time.
Rexburg police try to identify vehicle involved in hit-and-run that hurt teenager
REXBURG — Police are trying to identify a driver they believe is involved in a hit-and-run incident that hurt a teen on a bicycle. The Rexburg Police Department is asking for the community’s help after posting a picture of a white Acura TLX. The post said it’s possibly a 2013 or 2014 model. Kootenai County firefighters lend a hand with Oregon wildfire
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — On Saturday night, the state of Oregon requested the state of Idaho send firefighters to help with the Durkee Fire in eastern Oregon. By 5 a.m. Sunday, volunteers from Kootenai County Fire and Rescue, Timberlake Fire Protection District and Hauser Lake Fire Protection District and Worley Fire District mobilized to lend their assistance with battling the blaze. Each North Idaho department sent two firefighters and a brush truck to fulfil the request.
