Diamond Lake drowning victim didn’t know how to swim, sister says
The 37-year-old man who is presumed drowned after jumping into Diamond Lake Saturday did not know how to swim, his sister said. Chimanbai Patel, of Bend, was on a pontoon boat with friends when he jumped into the water, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. He went under and didn’t resurface.
