APD Investigating Motorcycle/Pedestrian Crash
Alexandria, La - On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at approximately 9:12 PM the Alexandria Police Department responded to US 71 and 3rd Street in reference to a crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian and motorcycle were traveling southbound in the left-hand travel lane on US 71 when the crash occurred. The pedestrian and operator of the motorcycle were transported to a local hospital with major injuries. A toxicology screening was performed and is pending.

Today, the Alexandria Police Department in Louisiana enjoyed a Police Appreciation Lunch sponsored by God’s House of Prayer Ministry. The event featured delicious food provided by Mrs. Bonita Joshua and her husband Mr. Darcus Joshua from Down South Cookin'. Funnel cakes made by Deputy Chief Lillie Evans and Reverend June Addison were also enjoyed. Pastor Angela Davis organized the event, making the lunch special for all at APD.
