Man arrested for sexual assault of a child
Editor’s note: The defendant’s name is not being used in this case to protect the identities of the minor victim. The Special Problems Enforcement & Response Team (SPEAR) and deputies from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 56 year-old man on Wednesday at approximately 2 p.m. on two counts of sexual assault.

John “Mr. Tap” Williams grew up in New York, where dance was always a part of his family and environment. “I remember when I was growing up, to preserve the soles of the shoes, they had those tap tap things on them, and I remember playing around with the shoes, clapping them together,” Williams recalls. “I’d also put thumbtacks in the bottoms of the shoes to make them tap and my mother would always tell them to get them off of her floors.”

Former teacher with Garfield County arrested
A former substitute teacher who taught in the Garfield Re-2 School District was recently arrested on child sex charges. According to a letter from the school district, Martin Spritzer has been charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child while in a position of trust/ victim, a felony, and two counts of unlawful sexual contact, a misdemeanor.
