A Cold Start to Tomorrow, with Shower Chances Returning for the Weekend
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Good evening everyone and happy Thursday. We had a picture perfect day across the county today with plenty of sunshine in place. This helped temperatures warm up during the afternoon hours, with highs reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s. High pressure is once again in control of our weather, and the large area of high pressure is helping to prolong the nice stretch into the start of the weekend. A low pressure system and series of fronts approaches the region Saturday afternoon, sparking off shower chances during the afternoon and evening hours. Showers likely last into Sunday, with activity looking more scattered in nature during the daytime hours. Cloud cover likely lingers for most of Sunday, with skies clearing out and sunshine returning to the forecast for Labor Day Monday.
