Southeast Minnesota Small Town Shooting Suspect Captured in Iowa
Le Roy, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in Mower County say the suspect in a shooting reported earlier this week was captured in Iowa. The shooting occurred on Tuesday night and the suspect was apprehended about 24 hours later. He was seen with a gun a little over 13hours after the shooting, authorities say.
Main Street Index Reports Iowa’s Rural Economy Is in a Recession
(Omaha) It’s the R-word for the Midwest rural economy. Recession. University Economist Ernie Goss says the Midwest region’s Rural Main Street Economic Index fell to 40-point-nine for August, showing negative growth. Farmland prices are falling, and agriculture equipment sales and farm exports are down. One bright spot for rural Iowa is that Iowa remains stronger, holding at 51-point-six. Any number over 50 indicates growth.

Emergency Construction Water Shut-off Boil Advisory Notice for McGregor
Effective Wednesday, August 28”, 2024 during construction a water line was damaged creating an emergency water shut off from the Catholic Church on 7’^ Street up to and including the Great River Care Center & Assisted Living. Other areas affected include the 700 block of Ann Street, Buell Ave, Garnavillo Ave, West Main Street, West Spring Street, and Tanglewood Dr. The repairs have been made and due to potential bacterial contamination a boil advisory is recommended for the affected area.
