Hawarden Man Airlifted After Monday Crash
Rock Valley, Iowa – A Hawarden man was flown to a Sioux Falls hospital following a single-vehicle crash about 8 miles south of Rock Valley Monday afternoon (July 15th). According to the Iowa State Patrol, the mishap occurred about 1:45 Monday afternoon at the corner of Eagle Avenue and 390th Street. Troopers say 76-year-old Charles McMillan of Hawarden was westbound on 390th Street in a 2013 Ford pickup, when he crossed the center line and entered the south ditch, striking a field drive.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - 15 apartments will soon be available for affordable housing in Iowa City, after a $1.7 million purchase by the Johnson County Board of Supervisors. The property is at 1102 Hollywood Boulevard and includes two-bedroom, one-bathroom, partially furnished, two-story townhomes. The units are newly renovated according to a news release, but still need energy-efficient upgrades before people can move in.

A New Dog Park Will Open in Cedar Rapids This Week
Cedar Rapids will get its third dog park later on this week! The 12th Avenue Dog Park is set to open its gates on Friday, July 19th at 10:30 a.m. Located at 405 12th Avenue SE in the Oak Hill Jackson Neighborhood, the 12th Avenue Dog Park is around a half-acre in size. Rick Soppe recently assumed ownership of Tri-State Auto Diagnostics at 491 Graf Road across from the Heritage Trail in Graf. He took over for Joe McKillip, who ran the business for over 30 years.
