Closure of Museum Way for 'Forever Marilyn' a waste of Measure J funds
On Thursday, during the Palm Springs City Council meeting, the city will hold a public hearing on the permanent closure of Museum Way for the "Forever Marilyn" statue. You might recall that the city used Measure J tax funds not only to purchase the property for Museum Way from Grit Development, but those funds were also used to build Museum Way, which at that time was deemed necessary and important to provide an unobstructed view corridor to the Palm Springs Art Museum. If the street is closed, it’s a waste of public funds.

Clarence Smelcer, a 62-year-old former social worker, is one of 14 current beneficiaries of a guaranteed income program that came under fire after the city of...
No conspiracy in assassination attempt
To those MAGA Republicans who think Donald Trump being shot at was some sort of conspiracy by President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats, may I remind you that the shooter did not come over the Southern Border, nor was it a woman, transgender or person of color. He was a white male and registered Republican living in a small town that’s 92% white. May all be reminded that when people encourage hatred, violence and chaos, it will eventually show up on their doorstep. ...
