Wayne and his wife Kathy were former residents of the Oakdale area, he as a successful businessman and she as a long-time teacher and mentor. Wayne continued to provide a family approach to his customers in the area, despite living 335 miles away. He will be missed.

Juvenile Suspect Arrested, Accused of Multiple Stabbings
A suspect described only as a juvenile was arrested in connection with a stabbing attack in Desert Hot Springs that left one person dead and another wounded. Officers responded around 9:30 p.m. Friday to reports of a physical altercation near the intersection of Two Bunch Palms Trail and Nahum Drive, where they found two people with stab wounds, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department. Paramedics pronounced one dead at the scene, and the other was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

San Jacinto Man Who Killed Friend After Slap Sentenced
A convicted felon who gunned down a 39-year-old San Jacinto man after the victim slapped him during an argument was sentenced Monday to 42 years to life in state prison. A Riverside jury in May convicted Melvin Mario James Landry, 42, of San Jacinto of second-degree murder for the slaying of Gilbert Wah in 2020. Along with murder, the panel convicted Landry of sentence-enhancing gun and great bodily injury allegations.
