Trial delayed until October for hit-and-run suspect Troy Reynolds
The suspect in a hit-and-run collision that killed Yucca Valley teenager Joshua Barreras was in court for a disposition hearing yesterday morning. Troy Reynolds is accused of striking the victim with a truck and fleeing the scene on the evening of January 26. Sheriff’s deputies found Barreras lying unresponsive in the center median of Twentynine Palms Highway near Avalon Ave. The teen was pronounced deceased at the Hi-Desert Medical Center later that night.

In celebration of the end of their summer program at Valle Vista Elementary School, the Boys & Girls Club of Central New Mexico hosted a "bike rodeo" for the children enrolled in the program. The Barcelona Dragons continue to retool with the addition of running back Tony Williams Jr. The 26 year old, 5-10, 200 pound native of Indio, California spent the 2021 and 2023 seasons with the University of Redland Bulldogs (NCAA, Div. III, SCIAC) where he played in 20 games and rushed for 1,251 yards yards and 14 touchdowns while catching 30 passes for 347 yards. He returned 25 kickoffs for 641 yards.
