Highway 169 south of Garrison closes

    By Staff report,

    2024-04-25

Motorists who travel on Highway 169 south of Garrison will encounter the road closed and detoured the week of April 29, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Highway 169 will close between Crow Wing County Road 26 and County Road 2/460th Street on Monday morning, April 29. Motorists will follow a signed detour along Crow Wing County Road 26, County Road 8 and County Road 2/460th Street.

The closure is necessary to replace three culverts beneath the roadway. Crews anticipate the work to take up to five days. All lanes will reopen by noon Friday, May 3.

The work is part of a larger project that begins in late May to resurface and improve seven miles of Highway 169 along west Mille Lacs Lake. To learn more about the project or sign-up for email updates, visit the project web page at mndot.gov/d3/projects/millelacslake/h169/.
