City of Dubuque to Offer Free Storm Damage Collection
Following the significant derecho that impacted Dubuque on Monday, July 15, the City of Dubuque is offering residents a free collection service for storm-damaged tree limbs and branches. This special no-charge collection will commence on Wednesday, July 17, and continue through Tuesday, July 23, to aid residents in the cleanup efforts.
Vikes’ playoff foiled by Independence
An early deficit proved to be too much for the Decorah baseball team Friday as the Vikes hosted Independence (14-20) in the Class 3A Substate 3 quarterfinals. It was the second meeting for the two squads this season on Olejniczak field with the Mustangs taking this one as well, 7-5. Decorah ends the season 22-15.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa's stricter abortion access law could go into effect as early as this Friday. It all depends on how long it takes the district court to act. Right now, people in Iowa can get abortions up to 20 weeks into their pregnancy. However, due to a state supreme court ruling, abortion will become illegal once cardiac activity is detected.
