In a recent inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, the Popeyes Famous Fried Chicken located at 932 Main St, Belle Glade, Palm Beach County, was cited for a total of 4 violations.

Despite the significant number of infractions, the popular chain establishment, known for its fried chicken meals, was not ordered to close but it has some infractions that require attention.

What happened during the inspection?: The regular food routine inspection, conducted on March 6, 2024, highlighted a range of issues from basic to high priority.

Among the most concerning were the sightings of live, small flying insects in various areas of the kitchen, including the food preparation and storage areas.

This high priority violation, noted as a repeat offense, led to an administrative complaint recommendation.

Additionally, an intermediate violation was observed where a handwash sink was used for storing empty spray bottles, a practice corrected on-site.

Basic violations included food stored on the floor of the walk-in freezer and an insect control device installed over a food preparation area. Both issues were promptly addressed and corrected on-site by the operator.

A follow-up review on March 7, 2024, reported one high priority violation, but the inspector's note indicated that the offense, though required further review, was not deemed an immediate threat to public health.
