While review sites like Google Reviews, Yelp, Facebook, and Foursquare, to name a few, can provide a glimpse into a restaurant's popularity, recent inspection reports from Florida authorities reveal some concerning violations at eateries across Broward County.

According to data from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, a total of 172 restaurants in the county failed their first inspection over the past 21 days.

In this article, I've listed the Broward County restaurants with the most violations in the past 30 days based on inspections carried out in late April and early May.

    Restaurants with the most violations

Topping the list of establishments with the most violations in the popular county over the last 30 days was Sakura Sushi Japanese Restaurant, a 4.4-star rated restaurant on Google reviews in Coral Springs.

Inspectors cited the restaurant, located at 1750 N University Dr., for 25 violations during an April 30 visit, including seven high-priority infractions that required a follow-up inspection. A reinspection on May 1 found the eatery meeting standards despite eight additional violations.

In Dania Beach, Cafe Toque Cubano at 37 S Federal Hwy Ste A racked up 23 violations on May 3, prompting a recommended administrative complaint and follow-up visit. Three days later, inspectors found just one remaining violation but scheduled another check to ensure the issue was addressed.

Also in Dania Beach, Grampa's Bagel Bakery & Deli at 17 SW 1 Street was cited for 20 health violations on April 30 before meeting state standards on May 2.

While some restaurants were able to resolve cited issues quickly, others continue to be monitored by inspectors to ensure compliance.

I have been reading about dirty dining way too much over the past couple of years. It's time to shut these nasty MF'ers down.
