Miami-Dade County, FL, restaurants with the most violations

State inspectors found dozens of Miami-Dade County restaurants racking up health code violations over the past month, with some eateries cited for over 30 infractions.

According to records from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, 150 restaurants in the county failed their initial inspection in the last 21 days. And although we commend the 559 restaurants that have past passed the inspection at the first visit, it is important to note that more than 70 establishments made the list of those with the most violations.

Restaurants with the most violations in Miami-Dade

Topping that list was Miller's Cafe with 36 violations discovered during an inspection on May 17. The restaurant, located at 10759 SW 56th Street in Miami, received a warning and was ordered to rectify six high-priority issues, though it was not forced to close. A follow-up inspection is required.

Selva Negra Restaurant Miami, a Nicaraguan eatery with a 4.3-star Google rating from over 1,400 reviews, was cited for 31 violations, 11 of them high priority, on May 2.

Follow-up inspections on May 3 and May 20 found the number of infractions reduced to four at the restaurant located at 2025 W Flagler Street.

Other restaurants making the list with over 20 violations each included Sarussi's Cafe, Caffe Abbracci, El Tamalazo III, Cafe Mi Vitrola, Gyu Kaku Japanese BBQ, Roasters and Toasters, and Palace Cafe.
