Leon County, Florida, lodgings with the most violations in the last 30 days

Seeking suitable accommodations can be a daunting task, especially for casual travelers on vacations, school trips or sporting events. Keeping tabs on lodging inspections is crucial for finding quality stays.

According to state records, 68 lodgings in Leon County, Florida, passed inspections on the first attempt over the past 30 days. However, 24 establishments failed their initial inspections, while six featured on the list of lodgings with the most violations in the county.

Tallahassee Lodgings Cited for Numerous Violations

In this article, I have compiled a list that includes the most notable hotels and motels with the most violations in April and May.

Motel 6 Tallahassee, located at 1027 Apalachee Pkwy, had a total of 13 violations during an inspection performed on May 14, resulting in a warning and mandated follow-up inspection. Infractions included soiled mattresses, rotted exterior wood, and dirty microwaves in guest rooms.

Meanwhile, Casa Bella Inn & Suites at 2850 Apalachee Pkwy amassed 12 violations, while Wyndham Garden Tallahassee Capitol at 1355 Apalachee Pkwy garnered 11 citations on May 17.

Wyndham received a warning and follow-up order after inspectors found stained blankets, broken windows, and other lapses.

Other lodgings making the violations list were Lake Talquin Store Inc. with 9 citations, Magnolia Terrace with 8, and Hilton Garden Inn Tallahassee with 5.
