The Wendy's at 9510 Applecross Rd in Jacksonville, Florida, was recently issued a follow-up inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation following a review of the Duval County eatery.

An inspection conducted on July 8th found seven violations, a mix of high-priority, intermediate, and basic infractions. These violations, ranging from improper temperature control to unsanitary conditions, raise concerns about the restaurant's commitment to food safety and hygiene.

What Happened During The Inspection: The routine food inspection revealed 3 high-priority, 3 intermediate, and 1 basic violation.

High-priority violations included improper cold holding temperatures for cut lettuce and sliced cheese, inadequate hot holding temperatures for egg patties, and incorrect storage of toxic substances.

Intermediate violations encompassed food-contact surfaces with mold-like substances, lack of employee health reporting documentation, and a non-functional paper towel dispenser in the men's restroom.

The basic violation involved soiled nonfood-contact surfaces.

Customer reviews reflect dissatisfaction with the restaurant's service and management. Fran Jackson reported disorganization and long wait times, while Stephen Clarke sarcastically praised the establishment for its inability to provide food.

Stephen Clarke said in a Google review post:

Best Wendy's ever. Makes you sit forever. Then asks you to go home. No food. Can't get food from this place. Just nothing. Love it. Beautiful.

With a rating of 2.8 stars from 1,295 Google reviews, this Wendy's Jacksonville location clearly needs improvement in both food safety practices and customer service.

The inspection results and customer feedback indicate significant issues that require immediate attention from management to ensure compliance with health regulations and enhance the overall dining experience.

NOTE: Please note that an inspection report, per the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, provides a snapshot of the conditions observed during the inspection.
