Conn's HomePlus, a major retail chain specializing in brand-name electronics, appliances, and home furnishings, is set to close its Ocala location as part of a larger restructuring plan following its recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.

The store, located in Marion County at 2800 SW 24th Ave in Boyd Market Center, is one of 18 Conn's locations in Florida that will be shuttered around October 31.

The announcement of store closures comes as Conn's scuffles with significant financial challenges. The company reported a net loss of nearly $77 million over the past year and a 7.8% decline in total revenue compared to the previous year.

With assets exceeding a reported $2.4 billion and debts nearing $2 billion owed to over 25,000 creditors, the retailer's situation has become untenable. Conn's operates over 170 stores across 15 states, employing approximately 4,000 individuals.

In a bid to manage its financial despairs, Conn's is conducting sitewide sales, offering discounts between 30% and 50% on various items. Customers can find these deals at the Ocala store, which is now part of the going-out-of-business sales.
