The Winghouse Bar & Grill restaurant, located at 2935 S Orlando Dr in Sanford, was forced to close its doors recently following a routine inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.

What Happened During The Inspections: An initial inspection conducted at the Seminole County establishment on July 15 identified 17 violations, including five high-priority infractions, leading to an immediate order for the facility to close temporarily.

Despite a follow-up inspection on July 16 that still found 14 violations, the restaurant remained closed until a subsequent review later that day allowed it to reopen, albeit with 10 violations still present.

    Inspectors Violations Note:

High-priority violations included a dish machine failing to sanitize properly, with a chlorine level of zero ppm, and the presence of 22 live roaches in various locations, including under the dish station counter and inside the cook line cooler gasket.

Additionally, the Seminole County establishment was operating with an expired Division of Hotels and Restaurants license, and vacuum breakers were missing at both the hose bibb and the mop sink faucet.

Intermediate concerns involved a non-functional paper towel dispenser at the cook line handwash sink.

Basic violations were numerous, such as an accumulation of debris inside the warewashing machine, missing ceiling tiles in the electric room, and dead roaches on the premises. Other infractions included employees wearing jewelry while preparing food, equipment and utensils not properly air-dried, standing water in various areas, and open dumpster lids.

Winghouse Bar + Grill, known for its sports bar atmosphere and popular chicken wings, holds a 3.9-star rating from 1,291 Google reviews, although recent customers suggested that the standard of the eatery hasn't been below what is expected recently.

A customer named Debbie Riner shared on Google reviews:

This place used to be one of our favorites in Sanford. Has really dropped off. Building looks atrocious.

NOTE: Please note that an inspection report, per the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, provides a snapshot of the conditions observed during the inspection.
