Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, located at 11899 Collier Blvd in Naples, Collier County, remains on the state inspector's watch list following a series of routine food inspections conducted in August.

Well recognized for its spicy fried chicken and Southern-inspired sides, this popular fast-food chain, which holds a 3.1-star rating from 1,266 Google reviews at the time of writing this article, has faced challenges in maintaining its operational standards.

The initial Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation inspection on August 5, 2024, revealed two notable violations, which prompted an administrative complaint and required a follow-up review.

The inspection highlighted one high-priority violation involving live, small flying insects in several areas, including the kitchen, food preparation, and storage spaces.

Notably, state inspectors observed 25 insects in the back dry storage area and 20 more near the mop sink area. Although no direct contact with food was noted, this issue remains a concern, especially as it is a repeat violation from December 21, 2023.

Additionally, one basic violation was noted in the inspection report due to ice buildup in the walk-in freezer.

This local Popeyes also underwent three follow-up inspections on August 8th, 9th, and 13th, but the presence of flying insects remained a persistent concern.

A recent customer named Jon Fliniau has called for improvement, stating on Google Reviews:

You know why this Popeyes is going down hill. Because of Management and the employees don’t care about there job. The food I ordered was not even edible... What is going on with this Popeyes. Get it together Popeyes.

The Collier County restaurant remains under review, and further inspections are pending.

NOTE: Please note that an inspection report, per the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, provides a snapshot of the conditions observed during the inspection.
