The No. 20 Florida State volleyball team continued their impressive start to the season, defeating No. 25 Georgia 3-1 in a relatively comfortable match at Tully Gym in Tallahassee on Sunday afternoon in the Seminole Invitational.

The Seminoles, now 3-0, secured the victory with set scores of 25-7, 25-14, 17-25, and 25-19, adding their first win over a ranked opponent this season.

Audrey Koenig led the charge for Florida State, delivering a strong performance with 15 kills on 37 attacks. Taylor Head also made significant contributions, recording nine kills and 15 digs, showcasing her versatility on both offense and defense.

The Seminoles' defense was equally impressive, with Kelsey Perry standing out with seven blocks, including four in the opening set. The team's setters, Kenna Phelan and Loren Robertson, orchestrated the offense skillfully, dishing out 18 and 16 assists, respectively.

Despite the loss, Georgia (2-1) put up a fight, led by Bianna Muoneke's 13 kills. Erykah Lovett and Sophie Fischer also reached double digits in kills with 12 and 10, respectively, while Clara Brower contributed 31 assists for the Bulldogs.

Florida State's victory this weekend marks their 43rd win over a ranked opponent in school history.

The Seminoles will look to maintain their momentum as they head to the Auburn Invitational next weekend, facing Cal Poly on Friday and host team Auburn on Sunday.
