Taste Casual Dining in Hobe Sound, Florida, which boasts a solid 4.3-star rating from 591 opinions on Google and a 4.0-star rating from 153 Yelp reviews, was recently inspected by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.

The Martin County restaurant, known for its American cuisine, casual dining, and entertainment, was cited for eight total violations, including seven classified as high-priority infractions.

Fortunately, the establishment was not mandated to close, but it will require a follow-up inspection as state records dictate ongoing health compliance checks. A follow-up review on August 30 saw only one violation, but there is still a need for another review.

The initial findings from the August 29, 2024 inspection were noteworthy, particularly in the handling of time and temperature control for safety food.

High-priority violations included cooked foods not reaching safe cooling temperatures, with items such as alfresco and black beans noted to have exceeded the allowed temperature thresholds.

Additional violations included the unsuitable storage of raw animal foods, which were found placed over ready-to-eat items and each other based on cooking temperatures.

Cold-held foods displayed troubling temperatures: items such as broccoli soup and mashed potatoes registered significantly above the required temperature limit.

The single intermediate violation involved the lack of proof for state-approved employee training.

Local diners have expressed their appreciation for Taste Casual Dining’s atmosphere and offerings.

Joe Longmore, a local guide, praised the restaurant's beer and wine selection, calling the Creole mussels and French dip outstanding.

"Great beer & wine selection. Started with the Creole mussels that were super delicious. The French dip was outstanding, filled with mouthwatering shaved prime rib. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend!!"
