WingHouse Bar & Grill, a Daytona Beach establishment known for its sports bar atmosphere and signature chicken wings, was cited for 19 violations, including five high-priority infractions, during a recent inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.

While the restaurant, located at 2721 W International Speedway Blvd in Volusia County, was not ordered to close, it has since undergone two follow-up inspections to address these infractions.

The initial inspection on August 28, 2024, uncovered 19 violations, five of which were high-priority and 14 of which were basic. These included unsuitable food storage practices, temperature control violations, cleanliness concerns, and pest control problems.

Despite these challenges, WingHouse Bar & Grill remains a popular choice for locals seeking a casual dining experience.

Among the high-priority violations were the presence of live flying insects in food preparation areas and a concerning level of rodent activity, evidenced by droppings in the storage shed.

The inspector also noted a required cleaning lapse after employees handled food after touching soiled clothing without proper handwashing—furthermore, unsuitable food storage practices placed raw chicken directly over ready-to-eat food, raising food safety alarms.

In terms of basic violations, the state inspector noted several areas requiring attention. The establishment faced problems such as dead roaches on premises, equipment in disrepair—including missing hood filters—and significant soiling on floors and tiles.

State records showed that a subsequent review of the Volusia County eatery on August 29 found seven basic violations, requiring a second follow-up inspection.
