A busy and somewhat managed Tuesday afternoon in Hialeah quickly became disorganized when a school bus and dump truck collided, leaving six people hospitalized and authorities scrambling for answers, Local 10 News and CBS Miami reports.

According to the report, the crash, which took place around 2:15 p.m. at East First Avenue and 60th Street, resulted in six individuals being transported to nearby hospitals, including three children.

"I wish we could put roller coaster type safety bars on school bus seats so kids could be a little safer out there," Princess, a Local 10 commenter, said.

Witnesses shared that they could hear the children screaming and crying as they exited the Miami-Dade County school bus.

It is understood that three adults from the dump truck endured the brunt of the impact, with two reportedly ejected from the vehicle and one trapped beneath it.

"The wheel was by the stomach and we were trying to pull the truck back with another truck. By the time we pulled them out and then the rescue came and took them," said Anthony Encalada, who assisted those who were hurt.

"Then there was another one who was inside the truck who stayed there for like 30 minutes."

According to the Hialeah Fire Department, the injured adults were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center for treatment.

On the bus, 15 children --six and seven-year-old Palm Springs Elementary students --and the driver were present; fortunately, all aboard experienced only minor injuries.

As a precaution, three of the children were taken to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

Video footage captured by Sky 10 and CBS Chopper 4 showed the two vehicles crashed into a nearby residential fence, leaving significant damage. The Florida Highway Patrol is assisting Hialeah police in piecing together the events leading up to the accident.

Questions remain about the causes of the collision and whether any parties will face liability.

Commenters have expressed their opinions about the crash, with many attributing it to poor driving. Some stated they were “not surprised” such an incident occurred.

"Why am I not surprised?" - Mymoneymyvoice shared on Local 10 News.

"Wouldn't be surprised if the school bus was at fault," another commenter, Miamilaker said.

However, authorities in Miami-Dade County remain focused on a thorough investigation before drawing any conclusions.
