KFC in Marianna received 13 violations during a Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation inspection on September 16, 2024. State records showed that the fast-food restaurant at 4337 Lafayette Street was issued a warning and required follow-up inspections, but thankfully, it wasn't ordered to close.

The initial inspection of this Jackson County restaurant, which originated from a complaint, revealed two intermediate and 11 basic violations.

A follow-up inspection on September 17 found six remaining violations, requiring another check. KFC, known for its fried chicken, holds a 3.1-star rating from 534 Google reviews, suggesting that locals continue to enjoy its signature fried chicken offerings.

A local guide and customer, Ted Seachord, shared on Google Reviews:

"I could not believe that when I asked for all breast's they gave it to me. Nice and moist meat and not dried out meat like most fried chicken in stores."

This is What The Inspection Revealed

While no high-priority violations were noted, the restaurant faced issues with water supply and general maintenance. Food safety was an issue, as time/temperature management for safe food did not maintain frozen stability. Corn, raw chicken, and fries were found at temperatures between 40°F and 41°F.

Additionally, the inspector noted the buildup of food trash on equipment handles and grease collection on roof tiles in the kitchen area.

Structural issues were also identified, including molding, missing floor tiles, and a hole in the men's bathroom wall. The current Hotel and Restaurant license was not correctly displayed, with an expired license on view.

Despite these issues, KFC was not ordered to close.

However, the restaurant needs to address the remaining violations before the next inspection.

A customer named Ella Brown, revealed the need for improvement in a Google Review: "Service was good food was very poor not fresh."

    Share Your Thoughts:

    1. How do these violations affect your perception of this KFC location?
    2. What steps do you think fast food restaurants should take to maintain cleanliness and safety?
    3. Does the lack of high-priority violations influence your opinion of the overall inspection results?

They have been spiraling down for some years now. I don't know who manages this place but it's dirty and nasty. I don't go there anymore.
