The Red Bowl Asian Bistro, located at 1482 W Granada Blvd Ste 615 in Ormond Beach, Florida, was cited for 26 violations, including five high-priority infractions, during a recent inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.

While the restaurant in Volusia County was not forced to close, it required a follow-up inspection to address these concerns.

The inspection revealed five high-priority, five intermediate, and 16 basic violations.

Among the high-priority violations, inspectors noted employees failing to wash hands before putting on gloves to handle food, and food-contact surfaces not being properly cleaned.

Raw animal foods were found to be stored incorrectly, with raw chicken placed over sauce containers in the walk-in cooler.

Intermediate violations included inaccessible handwash sinks, lack of cleaning agents in wash compartments, and missing soap at handwash stations. The restaurant also lacked proof of required state-approved employee training for some staff members.

Meanwhile, basic to be ranged from collection of garbage in the warewashing machine to unsuitable storage of employee personal items. Inspectors also observed food stored on the floor in the walk-in freezer and nonfood-contact surfaces soiled with grease and food scrap.

Despite these violations, Red Bowl Asian Bistro maintains a 4.0-star rating from 753 Google reviews, suggesting a generally positive customer experience.

    High Priority Violations:

    • - Employee failed to wash hands before putting on gloves to handle food
    • - Food-contact surfaces not thoroughly cleaned before use
    • - Raw animal food stored in same container as ready-to-eat food
    • - Raw animal food stored over/not properly separated from ready-to-eat food
    • - Raw animal foods not properly separated based on minimum required cooking temperature
