In the past 30 days, Walton County has seen several restaurant inspections, highlighting the importance of health and safety standards in dining establishments.

The Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation reported that out of 106 inspections, 98 restaurants passed upon their first visit. However, eight restaurants initially did not meet these standards and required further evaluation.

With an estimated population of 86,354, according to the United States Census Bureau 2023 data, Walton County is a spirited area where a diverse community enjoys dining out frequently. This dynamic also includes many visitors traveling to the region for leisure or to connect with friends and family throughout the year.

To keep residents well-informed about local dining options, I have compiled a list of the restaurants in Walton County that recorded the highest number of inspection violations during the last month.

    Highlighted Restaurants

Three restaurants stood out with the highest number of violations:

    1. Shades Bar & Grill in Inlet Beach received 15 violations during a September 3, 2024 inspection. Despite this, the restaurant met inspection standards, and no further action was required.
    2. Fish Out Of Water in Santa Rosa Beach also logged 15 violations on September 12, 2024. Like Shades Bar & Grill, it met standards and needed no further action.
    3. Village Market At Watersound Town Center in Panama City was cited for 12 violations, including three high-priority issues, on September 9, 2024. This establishment requires a follow-up inspection.

It is worth noting that both Shades Bar & Grill and Fish Out Of Water, despite their violations, were able to comply with inspection standards during their visits. No further actions were needed for these establishments.

On the other hand, Village Market at Watersound Town Center is required to undergo a follow-up inspection after receiving a warning for three priority violations.

Keeping informed about restaurant inspections helps locals and visitors make safe dining choices. Frequent updates from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation ensure that all patrons can enjoy their meals with peace of mind.
