Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, a popular fast-food chain in Hillsborough County, recently faced a health inspection that resulted in violations related to rodent activity. This restaurant, located at 10551 Big Bend Rd in Riverview, Florida, received six violations during a Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation inspection on September 23, 2024.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen was not ordered to close but required a follow-up inspection. State records showed that the subsequent inspection, conducted on September 24, 2024, revealed that the restaurant had successfully addressed the violations and met inspection standards.

This is What The Inspection Revealed

The initial inspection found one high-priority, one intermediate, and four basic violations. Popeyes, known for its spicy fried chicken and biscuits, holds a 2.7-star rating from 2,323 Google reviews.

The high-priority violation involved rodent activity, with the inspector's note indicating that seven droppings were found next to the office table. The operator removed the droppings and thoroughly cleaned the area during the inspection.

Thankfully, a follow-up inspection on September 24, 2024, found the restaurant meeting inspection standards, though three violations were still noted.

Despite these violations, Popeyes remains open. The follow-up inspection ensured that the main issues were addressed, particularly the rodent activity.

    High Priority Violation:

    • Rodent activity present as evidenced by rodent droppings found
