In the past 30 days, 23 restaurants in Highlands County underwent inspections by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. State records show that while 15 establishments passed on their first visit, 8 required follow-up inspections.

With a United States Census Bureau 2023 estimated population of 107,614, Highlands County residents and visitors have multiple dining options. Staying informed about local restaurant inspections is necessary for making educated choices when eating out.

Four restaurants in the county stood out with double-digit violations during recent inspections. Jimmy's Greek American Grill in Sebring topped the list with 19 infractions, including 5 high-priority violations, during a September 11, 2024 inspection. A follow-up review on September 12 found the restaurant meeting all standards with zero violations.

Havana Restaurant And Bakery, also in Sebring, received 16 violations on September 23, 2024, including 2 high priority issues. This resulted in a warning and the need for a follow-up inspection.

Two other establishments, Bufalucca and Broken Egg Diner, each received 11 violations during their respective inspections on September 12 and September 9, 2024.
