Recent inspections by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation have shed light on food safety practices in Hillsborough County restaurants. Over the past 30 days, 413 eateries underwent inspections, with 297 passing on their first visit.

However, 116 establishments failed to meet standards initially, raising questions about local food safety.

Pastries N Chaat, also in Tampa, received 27 violations on September 16, 2024. This establishment needed two additional inspections on September 18 and 25 to address the problems found.

Even popular chains were not immune to violations. A Chick-Fil-A location in Tampa was cited for 20 violations during its September 12, 2024 inspection, though it ultimately met standards.

Other notable mentions include Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar with 24 violations and El Patron Grill & Cantina with 23.
