The Golden Corral Grill And Buffet in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, was cited for eight violations during a routine inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation on October 1, 2024. State records showed that the popular buffet restaurant, known for its all-you-can-eat American fare, received two high-priority and six basic violations.

Although the St. Lucie County eatery, located at 651 Nw Saint Lucie West Blvd, wasn't ordered to close, it required a follow-up inspection to address the issues. On October 4, 2024, a callback inspection showed the restaurant meeting standards with three basic infractions remaining.

Here is What The Inspection Showed

The initial inspection revealed temperature management issues for various food items. The inspector issued a stop sale on several dishes due to unsuitable cold holding temperatures, leading to high-priority infractions.

These included pasta Alfredo, rice, cooked beans, sausage, coleslaw, tuna salad, cut melon, macaroni and cheese, seafood salad, banana pudding, cooked meats, and cut spinach.

Basic violations ranged from equipment maintenance issues to unsealed concrete floors in food preparation areas. The inspector also noted problems with cold-holding equipment, cutting boards with cut marks, and non-functioning light bulbs in various stations.

Despite these setbacks, Golden Corral Grill And Buffet maintains a 4.2-star rating from 3,579 Google reviews.

Fred Dombski, a Local Guide with over 800 reviews, praised the restaurant's variety and service, stating,

"Usually consistent and quite a variety of hot food and salad fixings. And desert bar with many choices from pie to ice cream. Service here is always right there with drinks and a good attitude. Don't forget to tip as these people work hard to make your meals as enjoyable as possible."

Meanwhile, Tina Smith shared a different experience

"Went there a couple of days ago, before I pay, there wars a ROACH walking around under the cash register I left of course, I can imagine how their kitchen is."

    High Priority Violations:

    • Stop Sale issued on time/temperature management for safety food due to temperature misuse
    • Time/temperature management for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit
