China Ichiban Buffet, a popular all-you-can-eat restaurant located at 800 S Federal Hwy in Deerfield Beach, Florida, successfully addressed violations cited during a recent inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.

While the Broward County restaurant was not forced to close, a follow-up inspection was required to rectify the issues.

The initial inspection, conducted on October 14, 2024, identified 6 violations, including 2 high-priority infractions.

High-priority violations included unsuitable storage of raw animal food and a malfunctioning dishwasher bleaching tool. According to state records, these issues required primary attention to ensure customer safety.

Meanwhile, basic violations ranged from missing floor tiles to incorrectly stored utensils. While these infractions were less noticeable, they still contributed to the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the establishment.

Despite these setbacks, China Ichiban Buffet maintains a solid 3.9-star rating from 1,996 Google reviews, indicating its enduring appeal to local diners. While not ordered to close, a follow-up inspection was required.

Encouragingly, a subsequent review on October 16 showed improvement, with this China Ichiban Buffet in Deerfield Beach meeting inspection standards during this follow-up inspection.

Customer experiences vary widely. While some praise the attentiveness and cleanliness, others report issues with staff professionalism. For buffet lovers seeking a variety of Chinese and hibachi options, China Ichiban continues to serve up favorites.

Locals should stay informed about the restaurant's ongoing efforts to enhance its food safety and customer service practices.

Meanwhile, local diners have mixed opinions about the buffet. Bertram Judson, a recent customer, praised the restaurant's cleanliness and attentive service.

Great food awesome place and they are very attentive.....oh and clean very clean

However, another patron, Daria, reported an unpleasant experience with rude staff.

I had the most unpleasant experience at this sushi buffet. The staff was shockingly rude and unprofessional. When I asked a question in English, they laughed and made comments in Chinese, which felt extremely disrespectful. It’s unacceptable for any customer to be treated this way.

    High Priority Violations:

    • Dishmachine bleaching tool not at proper minimum strength
    • Raw animal food stored over unwashed produce

    Basic Violations:

    • Employee beverage incorrectly stored
    • Cracked floor tiles
    • Utensils stored in standing water below required temperature
    • Non-functioning light in kitchen
