GASTONIA, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Investigators are looking for two suspects who allegedly stole 30 Stanley mugs from a store, according to reports from the Gastonia Police Department.
Around 12:35 p.m. on Friday, June 28, two men walked into Academy Sports & Outdoors on E. Franklin Blvd.
One of the men got a shopping cart where he was putting the cups while the other man stood watch, officials said.
The police report says the two men were seen on camera near the footwear department with two reusable grocery bags full of the popular cups, however, the store says they don’t sell or have those bags.
Around 12:43 p.m., both men walk out of the store with bags full of cups. A customer told store employees that one man got into a white Ford truck and the other continued walking in the parking lot of a nearby Sam’s Club.
According to the company’s website, the cups range anywhere from $20 to $60 depending on the model.

One suspect is described as a black man who is bald and has a short, grey beard and mustache. He was wearing a black shirt with blue lightning bolts, dark jeans and white shoes.
The other suspect is described as a white man with a brown goatee and tattoos on both arms. He was wearing a grey shirt that says “freedom” on the back, khaki cargo shorts, white shoes and a grey ball cap.
Authorities say no arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the case or the suspects is asked to contact the Gastonia Police Department.
