If you’re still looking for a spot to watch red, white and blue fireworks light up the night sky on the Fourth of July, you might want to consider a mountaintop view at an amusement park.

In the Great Smoky Mountains, Anakeesta, a nature immersive adventure park, sits 600 feet above Gatlinburg and offers a unique perspective on the East Tennessee city’s July 4 fireworks spectacular.

Anakeesta also is hosting its annual summer festival, United Tastes of America, which allows guests to “travel” across the country to enjoy distinct regional cuisines and live music.

Here’s what you can expect if you climb the mountain and spend Independence Day at Anakeesta.

How to watch Gatlinburg’s fireworks from Anakeesta

Anakeesta is staying open late July 4 for the Gatlinburg fireworks. Being high on the mountain makes for a great location to view the 20-minute fireworks and drone display.

Gatlinburg’s Independence Day fireworks show begins around 10:50 p.m. July 4. Fireworks will be launched from the Gatlinburg Space Needle.

The Southeast Tourism Society has rated the celebration as a “Top 20 Can’t-Miss Event,” according to pigeonforge.com .

What is ‘United Tastes of America’ festival at Anakeesta?

“The spirit of America is soaring through the Smokies this summer” during Anakeesta’s United Tastes of America festival. A tasting pass lets guests “travel” to 12 states across the country, tasting food and drinks from those regions.

Some of the menu items include:

    • Mama’s biscuits and gravy
    • Sweet Georgia peach ice cream
    • Lone-star Paloma cocktail
    • Maine lobster roll
    • Kentucky bourbon salmon
    • Napa vineyards frozen rosé slushy
    • New Mexico chorizo taco
    • Louisiana gumbo

Tasting passes start at $36.99 and are add-ons to general admission tickets. The festival runs until Aug. 11. More information is available at anakeesta.com .

    How much are Anakeesta tickets?

The popular Gatlinburg mountaintop destination has plenty else to offer, including roller coasters, ziplining, immersive experiences, shops and to restaurants.

    • Adult tickets begin at $34.99, and kids’ tickets begin at $22.99.
