Toccoa Municipal Court Hearing Results in Shutdown of Regency Inn
In Toccoa, a local motel that police say has become a hub of criminal activity has been ordered to shut down for 30 days. During a Toccoa Municipal Court session last week, Judge Robert Sneed heard testimony from Toccoa Chief of Police Jimmy Mize and statements from City Attorney John Dickerson as well as testimony and comments from Gopal Pal, resident manager of Regency Inn on West Currahee Street in Toccoa, and Pal’s attorney James Irvin.

One month after a judge granted her appeal and vacated her seven-year sentence in the tax evasion and fraud case, Julie Chrisley is granted a resentencing date. According to PEOPLE, the Chrisley Knows Best alum is set to return to Atlanta on September 25 to receive a new sentence. The seven-year tax evasion and fraud sentencing was thrown out due to the lack of evidence.

Vivian (Cordy Tindell Vivian), born on July 30, 1924, in Boonville, Missouri, was a renowned civil rights leader and close associate of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He grew up in Illinois and attended Western Illinois University, where he was involved in his first non-violent direct action, a lunch counter sit-in in Peoria, Illinois, in 1947.
Autopsy released for Atlanta mom found dead inside car 2 years after teen son shot to death
ATLANTA — The cause of death has been released for an Atlanta mother whose body was found inside a car more than a week ago. Chanell Crosby, 35, was found dead inside the back of a vehicle around 2 p.m. on July 19 in the area of the West End MARTA station, police said. The discovery of her body came a day after her family filed a missing persons report with Atlanta Police on July 18. Her family said she was last seen on July 14.
