Primary Care Center holds annual back-to-school Funfest
The Primary Care Center of Eastern Kentucky held their annual Funfest event, Friday, Aug. 16, offering free sports physicals, giveaways, food and more. This year's event featured a free magic show with magician Gerald Slone. Primary Care CEO Barry Martin emphasized the importance of these events as a demonstration of the center’s commitment to the community. “We started this in the fall of 2003 to generate interest,” said Martin. “We’ve been doing this for 21 years. We started it as a community awareness event. At one time we were doing over 200 sports physicals at this event. We want the community to know that we are here and support them with these events. The event center here is for the community. We wanted to have a place where kids could come in and enjoy themselves.”
