Jones, Chan score goals to lead Janesville Parker to third win of season

Madelyn and Avery Marquette each provided an assist in Janesville Parker's 2-0 nonconference girls soccer win over Beaver Dam on Thursday in Beaver Dam.

Madelyn Marquette threaded a through ball to Haven Jones in the first half, and Avery Marquette passed to Thailena Chan, who beat a Golden Beavers defender down the sideline before making it 2-0 Vikings.

Teana Anderson made five saves in Parker's goal.

"I told our girls to go into today's game with a focus on having fun and giving it your all, and they all did just that," Vikings coach Andy Nouansacksy said. "This team has grown so much since my first day. You can see them finding the passion for the sport and having pride in being a part of this program."

The win was Parker's third of the season, which is more than the Vikings won from 2018-23 combined. The last time they won three or more games in a season was 2017, when they were 5-12-2.

Parker's next game is a regional contest at Waunakee on Tuesday night.
