MILTON — A developer wants to build duplexes on Red Hawk Drive near E. Ash Lane in the Tower Hill Meadows Subdivision in Milton.

Next Generation Holdings, LLC owns 30 lots in the Milton area and wants to build duplexes on six of those. It has applied for a conditional use permit, which is needed to construct duplexes on the site, according to a memo released by City Administrator Paul Hensch ahead of Tuesday’s Milton Common Council meeting.

A public hearing on the requested permit is set for Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at Milton City Hall, 710 S. Janesville St. The common council will decide whether to approve the permit at a meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers.

A memo from Hensch said “many” of the duplex units will be zero-step entry and disability accessible and “would be targeted to owner occupants.”

Hensch’s memo also included an administrative recommendation to approve the permit. No fiscal impact to the city is expected, according to the memo.

Those who cannot attend the public hearing but would like to submit comments may mail Milton City Hall at 710 South Janesville Street, Milton, WI 53563. They may also email either Hensch at phensch@milton-wi.gov or Clerk Jenny Salvo at jsalvo@milton-wi.gov, call 608-868-6900 ext.6 or fax 608-868-6927.

    Proposed subdivision

The council on Tuesday will also consider a plan for a proposed subdivision by JS Chisum Land, LLC.

JS Chisum Land has submitted a final plat to subdivide 7.67 acres of land into 16 lots and two outlots, according to another memo from Hensch.

The property is zoned residential, according to the memo, so it already allows single-family homes.

“Five lots are indicated as duplex lots, but this will need to go through the conditional use process at a future meeting to allow for those,” Hensch wrote.

Red Hawk Drive runs through the center of the proposed plat. Acacia and Apple Blossom lanes, as well as Rainbow Drive would be, in part, in the subdivision. New sewer and water facilities would need to be built to service the development, according to the memo.

This memo also included an administrative recommendation, but with the conditions of approvals of a residential development agreement and DNR water and wastewater permits.
