JANESVILLE — The slow-no-wake speed restriction has been lifted for the entire length of the Rock River in Rock County, per an announcement from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office Saturday.

In that announcement, Sgt. Shawn Natter, the Recreational Safety Bureau supervisor, said the water level for the river in Afton was at 6.47 feet. The water level was at 6.19 feet at midnight Sunday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association.

According to county ordinance, a slow-no-wake restriction for the river between the Indianford Dam south to the WBR Townline Road bridge is to be put in place when the water level is at 6.50 or higher.

The county had already lifted restrictions from Lake Koshkonong to the Indianford Dam and from the WBR Townline Road bridge to the state line.
