    Girls golf: Craig fourth, Parker fifth at Milton Best Ball Invitational

    MILTON — Janesville Craig’s girls golf team finished fourth, while Janesville Parker was fifth and Milton took sixth at Thursday’s two-person Milton Best Ball Invitational held at Oak Ridge Golf Course.

    The Cougars shot 269, followed by the Vikings (278), Red Hawks (283) and Edgerton, which shot 290 to finish seventh.

    Milton’s team of Elliana Ostertag and Emma Steinke paced area golfers with a ninth place finish, shooting 85. Avery Ferguson and Piper Williams shot 90 for the Red Hawks, who also counted Lara Spielmann and Bardot Sheehy’s 108 score.

    For Craig, Brynn Sikich and Helen Gorman shot 88 to tie for 10th, Macy Murphy and Kate Wixom shot 89 and Alexis Hanson and Ellie Klein shot 92.

    For Parker, Olivia Larson and Grace Knilans shot 88 to also tie for 10th. McKenna Haenel and Everlee Licitar shot 95 while Paige Smith and Skylar Bierman shot 97.

    For the Crimson Tide, Lauren Richards and Amelia Leigh shot a team-best 90. Claudia Jenny and Mya Roller shot 97 while Norah Kluck and Madilynn Ottman shot 103.

    Oregon shot 241 to hold off Verona by nine strokes to win the team competition while Beaver Dam’s McKenna Nelson and Kamryn Albert teamed up to card a 75 and win individually by three shots.

    Team scores: Oregon 241, Verona 250, Fort Atkinson 267, Janesville Craig 269, Janesville Parker 278, Milton 283, Edgerton 290, Beaver Dam 300, Stoughton 307, McFarland 309, Baraboo 322, Watertown 334, Mukwonago 347.
