EVANSVILLE — Middleton took the top score at the Big Eight conference girls’ golf meet on Thursday at the Evansville Golf Club.

The Cardinals took the title with their score of 344. Both Craig High and Parker High competed at the meet with the Cougars ending in third place with 381 points and Parker finishing in fifth place with a score of 405.

Brynn Sikich finished as the top Craig golfer with her 7th place finish and score of 89.

“The girls have been playing consistently well, “ said Craig coach Stefanie Hanson.

Hanson noted there’s room for improvement, but likes what she saw from her team in the meet. With regionals coming soon, the team will need to perform at their best.

“We still have a lot of potential to improve, [but] I think we’re looking pretty solid heading into Regionals,” said the Craig coach.

As a team, Verona took second place with a score 356, but the Wildcats had the top individual performer with Sophomore Lauren Schleeper finishing with a score of 82. Middleton had the next three top-finishers: Maddy Wilcox (83), Sydney Weiss (84) and Emily Utter (86).

Senior Olivia Larson and her score of 99 made her the top-finisher for Janesville Parker.
