Rock County to offer first snowmobile safety education course of season

JANESVILLE — Rock County will have its first snowmobile safety education course of the season on Nov. 5 from 6-7 p.m. and Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, 200 E. Highway 14, Janesville.

Students must attend both sessions to graduate.

Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1985 is required to complete a snowmobile safety education course to legally operate a snowmobile in public areas in Wisconsin. Students must be 12 or turn 12 shortly after the class.

Class size is limited to 30 students. After submission of the registration form, there will be an onscreen confirmation message with course information. The class fee is $10 per student, and will be collected at the first session. If the student is younger than 18, a parent or guardian is required to attend the first session.
