Two dead in collision; Janesville man faces homicide charges
JANESVILLE — Two people were pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle collision early Saturday. Koty M. Diaz, 32, of Janesville, allegedly ran a red light at Delavan Drive and struck a vehicle traveling north on Beloit Avenue at about 2:14 a.m., according to the Janesville Police Department. Rock County Sheriff’s Office lifts slow-no-wake on rest of Rock River
JANESVILLE — The slow-no-wake speed restriction has been lifted for the entire length of the Rock River in Rock County, per an announcement from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office Saturday. In that announcement, Sgt. Shawn Natter, the Recreational Safety Bureau supervisor, said the water level for the river in Afton was at 6.47 feet. The water level was at 6.19 feet at midnight Sunday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association. According to county ordinance, a slow-no-wake restriction for the river between the Indianford Dam south to the WBR Townline Road bridge is to be put in place when the water level is at 6.50 or higher. The county had already lifted restrictions from Lake Koshkonong to the Indianford Dam and from the WBR Townline Road bridge to the state line.
Janesville Fire Department responds to early morning fire at old Big Ed’s Sew and Vac building
JANESVILLE – The Janesville Fire Department reponsed to a fire at the former Big Ed’s Sew and Vac at 410 W. Milwaukee St on Saturday. Janesville man held for 5th OWI after single-car collision
JANESVILLE – A 59-year-old Janesville man was arrested Friday for his fifth OWI following a single-car crash at the intersection of McKinley and Linn streets. Janesville police responded after the vehicle allegedly struck a curb while attempting to turn. The driver, Matt Lowman, reportedly showed signs of impairment and failed standardized field sobriety tests. Lowman consented to a blood draw, with results pending. He was taken to the Rock County Jail, where he is being held pending a court appearance.

MILTON — A developer wants to build duplexes on Red Hawk Drive near E. Ash Lane in the Tower Hill Meadows Subdivision in Milton. Next Generation Holdings, LLC owns 30 lots in the Milton area and wants to build duplexes on six of those.
