As the 2024 presidential elections draw national attention, voters in southwestern Idaho are focusing on their local school districts. They are set to vote on the School Bonds and Levy decision on Tuesday. This decision will affect several school districts.

In the Valley View School District, in Canyon County, a proposed Levy is projected. This could raise the average annual tax cost from $49 to $76 per $100,000 of taxable value. Over in Jerome County, the Valley School District is proposing a levy of $600,000.

The Shoshone School District is also making a bit for funds. They are proposing a 20-year General Obligation Bond amounting to $8.2 million. Additionally, the Castleford School District is asking for a $700,000 Levy.
